PUT YOUR PHOTOS ON DISPLAY…

At the 2009 KPA Winter Convention, (January 22-23 at the Galt House East Towers in Louisville), we will display photos from Kentucky newspaper photographers that were taken in 2008. 2009 KPA DIRECTORY COVER PHOTO

Kentucky is known for having some of the top newspaper photographers in the country. So what better way to show a photographer’s talent than on the front cover of the KPA Directory? Each year, we select one four-color photograph or a montage from a photographer at a Kentucky newspaper and publish that on the front cover of the directory with appropriate credit given inside the directory. N.Y. professor stifles blogging by journalism student

But in the 21st century and today’s brave new digital world, instructors face many new challenges — such as students blogging and Twittering about their classroom skills and knowledge.

Newspaper Week, Oct. 5-11; never more relevant

For most newspapers, National Newspaper Week has been a ho-hum activity, often if not usually ignored. Now, with the future of newspapers in doubt, the annual observance has never been more relevant. KHSJA is half way to its goal

With seven weeks to go in the sign-up period for the 2008-09 school year, KHSJA is half-way home to matching last year’s record 112-school membership. Fifty-six schools have joined or been sponsored so far in the high school journalism association.
