Kentucky native Steinfort, ex-AP executive, dies

NEW YORK — Roy Steinfort, a veteran newsman and former vice president of The Associated Press who turned the agency’s radio operations into a service providing news to millions of listeners worldwide, died Sunday at age 88. Steinfort died after a short battle with cancer, said his widow, Patricia Milton. In a journalism career spanning some 40 years, Steinfort went from covering sports in his native Kentucky to running a weekly paper to chief of all broadcast operations for the AP. He retired from the world’s largest and oldest news agency in 1986.

Eunice Clark passes away

A memorial service was March 9 at First United Methodist Church in Fulton, Ky., for former Parisian and retired newspaper publisher Eunice Mitchell Clark of Fulton. The Rev. Bill Tate officiated. Clark was buried earlier in the day at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens in Fulton.

Q&A with Kevin Slimp

Hi Kevin,

I have an SD card that was taken out of a camera and placed in another without first downloading the photos. We tried using PhotoRescue (3 years old) to retrieve the photos. We were able to get some but most seem corrupt. Do you have any ideas how else to retrieve these photos? It is an 8GB card with approximately 1,000 photos. Read the rest of this entry
